Imagina as well had Shawn tried to reveal something to the cops and they just returned him to his father saying he needed a good whiippin for being a rebellious child. It does happen where law enforcement blindly sides with the authority figure without question.

Exactly. And I can't help but think of the pain in Shawn's heart as he watched those cops walk away, never recognizing him as a kidnapped child. How bleak and cold his future must have looked to him. He's a strong kid, stronger (IMHO) than many here and in the media who look for reasons to blame him, instead of Devlin
