I once got on her case because she had made a post that appeared to say that those people getting a technical degree didn't have a "life of the mind".

Bigarmwoman is a person after my own heart! I saw your comment/compliment to her, LB. Right on! I was fortunate to be an English major when deconstruction/theory was not around, thank God. Therefore, I garnered a broader education in history as well. My BA was Biology/English and my MA was English literature (NOT Education), and thus imo I remained balanced. LOL

Even then there were kooks in the English departments, but I steered clear of them...tried to get my money's worth and keep my sanity as well as avoiding such really weird people w/tenure. LOL
