Here is what I don't udnerstand; if the AG can't take him off the case, why would Nifong ask him to take him off the case?

I don't know ... maybe he had advice from his newly appointed attorney, David Freedman.

Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong met in his office Thursday with the accuser in the Duke lacrosse case. Defense lawyers had served a subpoena on the woman addressed at Nifong's office. She was in the office Thursday and personally received the document, the subpoena said.
