Greece is such a backwater place, they're the only Western country left that still has communist terrorists. When you walk through the streets there, you'll notice signs and posters by communist student groups. It's as if you've used a time machine to go back to the 1970s. I suppose that's what you end up with after decades of living off nothing but EU agrarian subsidies.

Oh well, but it's still a beautiful country. They're nice people, too, just don't take their political views too seriously ;-)

Those groups have more printing presses than members and they were finance by the USSR.

Having been there it is hardly back water, if anything they have seriously embraced the international world. In fact many places are now indistinguishable from any mall style street. They have their Nine West, Bannana Republic, American Style Shopping malls, TGIF (literally), Applebees, Bennegans, and not to mention the club life.

It just happens to be that which our historic places have the spot where benjamin franklin walked two hundred years ago and studied the greeks did 5000 years ago, the greeks have the actual place of 5000 years ago.

You obviously know nothing of Greece other than your ignrant comments and how much the nation has moved beyond the agrarian ecconomy. In fact Greece is the only ecconomy that has been booming because of its free market moves.
