The DNA lab ought not to even know what case its DNA is from. It should be a black box...blind samples come in, blind results come out.

I don't think this DNA lab is going to have very many samples coming in in the future. Their credibility is shot. Any time they are asked to testify this will come up, and they will be impeached by it. They may get other work, but it won't pertain to anything involving a lawsuit, nor will they get anymore government work. I only hope they make enough from what work they're able to scrape up to pay off the judgments that can or should be levied against them for their malfeasance in this case.
