Cut a deal with whom? Who's going to undertake a prosecution against him? The agreement/conspiracy to obstruct justice was undertaken in another county, but we've heard nothing out of the DA for that county. That doesn't mean s/he's not acting (very silently), but it sure doesn't mean s/he is.
I was just surmising that perhaps Meehan could be used in a future case against Nifong. I don't know who gets to call the shots on that.
