I know I am not a pilot, but, on any ( professional ) airline flight, don't they check these things about ahead of time, like a flight plan ?
I don't know, If I were their boss, I would at least give them the benefit of the doubt, and if I wanted to reprimand them, I give them a few days off from work with or without pay.
To me, it seems like a honest mistake, and I get a sense they were having problems with the plan, and maybe sort of got lost, and landed at a airport they knew was there.
