Australian sons, let us rejoice
For we are young and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare
In history's page, let evry stage
Advance Australia Fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair

When gallant Cook from Albion sailed
To trace wide oceans o'er
True British courage bore him on
Til he landed on our shore
Then here he raised Old England's flag
That standard of the brave
"With all her faults we love her still"
"Britannia rules the wave"
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands
To make our youthful Commonwealth
Renowned of all the lands
For loyal sons beyond the seas
We've boundless plains to share
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair
In joyful strains, then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair

Should foreign foe e'er sight our coast
Or dare a foot to land
We'll rouse to arms like sires of yore
To guard our native strand
Britannia then shall surely know
Beyond wide oceans roll
Her sons in fair Australia's land
Still keep a British soul
In joyful strains, then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair

The above were the original words of Advance Australia Fair which is today's Australian National Anthem. The bold text indicates things that have been changed from that original version to todays.

Verses two and four have been entirely excised - the Sheikh really makes me think we should put them back.

Australian sons has become Australian's all. I have no objection to that though I didn't see a need to change.

our youthful Commonwealth is now this Commonwealth of ours. Again, I have no problem with that.

For loyal sons beyond has become To those who come across the and that part should never have been changed. The original made it clear that Australia was a land of equality for those loyal to it. The current words just suggest you can come in and take what you want.

I love the song and it does mean a lot to me. But back to the original. Which meant even more.

Thats OK, most Australians think that Islamic 'clerics' like Taj al-Din al-Hilali are ignorant, 7th century, goat screwing, bomb throwing fanatics who would not be missed (and possibly widely rejoiced) if they all suddenly ceased to exist.

Maybe if this islomo-tard read anything other than the Koran, he might know that only a fraction of the Australians came as convicts.
