This "strategy" will only result in more senseless bloodshed unless the Bush administration allows the troops to go after the militias and loosens the ROEs.

President Bush has specifically stated that the ROE have chnaged. He's also made it clear to Maliki that the militias are fair game and since the ROE has changed I assume that means a lot of killing.

I was dubious about an increase in troops unless the ORE changed, Baghdad was the focus of most of those troops and something was done about Sadr. 4000 Marines are going to Anbar. I think President Bush and Maliki both understand that this is the last shot at the apple.

So I support the troop increase and wish President Bush, General Petraeus and the troops Godspeed.

There should never have been any ROE's in the first place.

I assume that means a lot of killing.

Unless the militias go quietly. Some, maybe even most, may. Then can be encouraged by a rapid round up of the leadership/instigators, with al Sadr being at the top of the list to be rounded up.

Maybe he'll run to Iran, and reveal himself as nothing but a Persian pawn.
