I had never been too interested in girls during high school. My father had died when I was 15 years old and I spent my summers working so I could get back into school the next year. Times were difficult. Did not have money, clothing for dating, nor a car. Didn't have much to offer any girl.
During my Senior year (her Junior) we starting walking home together along with my younger brother and one of her female friends.
After I graduated from High School I managed to get a job and a used car. After that we started dating. Nothing major, just a picnic or we would ride over to a nearby State park to be alone and talk. Next thing you know we were talking of getting married after she graduated.
She graduated mid May of 1958 and we were married in our church June 1, 1958. Six children, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren later we are still married. Will be 49 years this coming June.
She is still a beautiful and sweet lady. Will admit that she is my only love in life and the only woman with enough patience to put up with me.
Oh what a wonderful story jerry639,Thank you so much for our troops as I know they are reading this thread, fatima
