My golden retriever "Bart" introduced us to each other about 7 years ago, at a beach called Kanaha. She lived on the mainland and her job took her to Maui almost monthly. She would stop by to see if he, Bart, was there. Little did we know that we were made for each other, but Bart knew from day one.
We were married May 4th last year, and Bart was the ring bearer. He was old, arthritic, and blind, but he lived to see me marry the most wonderful woman on the planet. He is buried in the front yard now, a Plumeria tree planted on top of him, and we have a new golden retriever named "Zeke". But I will never forget my best friend, a we will always thank him for what he gave us, his unconditional love, and each other.
