she found me. i had writtten my ususal semi-sappy, kinda-bitter, self-depricating yet hopeful diatribe concerning the state of my love life. i guess she saw something in there. we wrote some emails and IM'd eachother a few times. then we discovered our shared love of late-night "Frasier" reruns. we would watch them "together" over the computer.

turns out we lived about a mile from eachother. one night at about 4am she invited me over for pancakes. she felt safe knowing i was a cop. we ate our first meal together and i helped her pack for a trip to california later that morning.

she came back a week later and we picked up where we left off. we had both been dating other people, but the need for that soon faded. we moved in together 3 months later. last night we celebrated out first year of being an exclusive couple. we are not married...yet.

we never would have met but for the internet. she is latin. full of vim and vigor as opposed to my off-duty, shy demeanor. she loves to cook, i love to wash dishes. she loves to clean, i love to make a mess. we have 2 "kids"...a chihuahua and a mini-yorkie. i'm 9 years older than her. everyday is a new experience to say the least. we both knew early on that we were done looking but we were too shy to say it first. now we say it everyday.

she is the reason i can sleep at night and the reason i wake up in the morning. i'm an agnostic so i guess i should thank Darwin for her?

Love these stories.

I feel like mine is a cinderalla story. I was 26, cute, and engaged to a young engineer from PA. He was always sort of confused and brooding. I never let it bother me because I thought he was "the one".

One day he broke my heart and said he was leaving to another state and "it was over". I cried so much that my dreams of love and plans for a wedding were over, asking God how these things could happen, and for help.

Shortly after, a friend from college called me out of the blue one day, and we laughed and joked for hours. He was always super friendly with me, but I didn't pay any attention to him, since I was engaged. He asked me out on a date and we were married months later. Everyone thought I was crazy because he didn't have a job. I supported the family while he was in law school.

Twelve years later, we have four gorgeous kids and God has been VERY good to us. I'm the one without the job now, and can afford more than any of those who criticized us ever dreamed of. More importantly, I adore him. He is the love of my life, besides God, and we are both positive people with strong family values. God always knew what he was doing, even if I didn't. Thanks again God!

I was a 2LT. My boss, an LTC, made me attend the unit's Christmas Ball. My wife was a 2lt, her boss made her attend. My roommate was behind my future wife and her friend as they were selecting which table they wanted to sit at, he asked for two seats at the same table.

We meet, had a brief intense courtship. The Army was going to move her and we didn't see the sense of trying to have a long distance relationship. We married 6 months after we meet, so the Army would keep us together. That was 18.5 years ago.

I'll say! Plus, I was amazed at how some people saw it as "Hook Up.com"...I never knew there were so many ladies out there who had one thing on their minds...true equlity of the genders! LOL!
