"I'M GOING TO TRY TO HAVE COFFEE or lunch with a different correspondent every week,” Ms. Couric said. “It’s one of my many New Year’s resolutions.

Wow Katie, you have such high ambitions.

But her ratings gap is largest during big news events, like the President’s meeting with Mr. Maliki in Jordan on Nov. 30, when, ... Ms. Couric trailed her competitors by nearly two million viewers.

She really should stick with cooking tips.

A couple of keepers.

To a degree, Mr. McManus blames the media. The reporters who cover television are “predisposed to negativity”—didn’t we hear this from Laura Bush?—about Ms. Couric, he said, and thus have ginned up “an absurd set of expectations for her.”

“I think I’m pretty judicious about it,” she said. “I think that, probably it may be off-putting at times to some people who are used to a very, very buttoned-up newscast that doesn’t have much leeway for an occasional glimpse of personality, but you know, I try. I’ve always had the ‘less is more’ philosophy, believe it or not, but there are times when I think it’s personally fine. If people feel discomfort, maybe they should consider a suppository.”

Time to shove another camera up her rear end.

Little do they know that a lot less couric and lot more anyone else might be the key to raising the ratings.

Her voice grates, her comments are insipid, when she isn't remarking that the comments from the father of a murdered boy at Columbine...are repugnant.

What expectations? All she has to do is get in front of a teleprompter and read for Chrissakes. The fact that she chooses to editorialize every story with a leftwing angle makes her the same as every other MSM outlet.

Perky doesn't cut it, since old women in nursing homes would rather watch Williams and old men are set in their ways and don't trust women, even if Katie was editorializing the news while in a thong and pushup bra.

approximately 7.5 million American television viewers every night?
Seems to me Rush has almost 3 times that amount every day. It would also seem that Katie is irrelevant.

Man, if this doesn't demonstrate my theory of liberal social entropy, nothing does. My God, this is a incompetent moron who reads off a teleprompter and gets paid 15 million dollars a year to do it. That's it. She's not a scholar. She has no known expertise in anything except buying shoes. What a worthless POS and how totally irrelevant she is.

Success, she said, was a hard quality to quantify. Aren’t ratings a pretty easy way of quantifying it?

“That’s really not how I operate,” she said. “That’s not how I measure success.”

It's NOT how YOU rate your success katie, it's how the shareholders rate your success, and they do it by RATINGS.

Yours SUCK, and they ain't gonna get any better, so "BA BYE" you left-wing twit.

I don't think I've ever seen a news article with the expression "hunky-dory" in it ... and twice, no less.
