Italian film producer Carlo Ponti, the husband of actress Sophia Loren, has died in Geneva at the age of 94. He produced a number of film classics, including Federico Fellini's La Strada, David Lean's Dr Zhivago and Michelangelo Antonioni's Blowup.
Italian news agency Ansa reported that he was being treated for a pulmonary complication in the Swiss city.
Ponti married Loren in 1957 when she was just 22 but the marriage was later annulled. They remarried in 1966.

That's a shame. They got married a year before I was born! (1958)

La Dolce Vita is Fellini flick. Just saw it again this past weekend.
Among his more notable productions: Dr. Zhivago in 1965. Mr. Ponti produced over 140 films.
May he rest in peace.

Uh, am I allowed to use the phrase: "La Dolce Vita" to describe Ponti's life?
To: battlegearboat
Of course. I had thought the purpose of your post was asserting La Dolce Vita as a Ponti film. There was no other way for me to comprehend this, as Marcello Mastroianni, could be viewed as a young Mr. Ponti during a time in Italy. Fortunately, Mr. Ponti fared far better than the Marcello-character in La Dolce Vita. And, the character met up with some very nasty females, and became quite hostile to females.

Uh, someone is eyeing another's assets with a tad of disdain, or is it envy?

A good long run. "La Dolce Vita", indeed. Rest in peace, Mr. Ponti. Prayers to Miss Loren on her loss.

The problem seems to be when you post an image hosted from tripod, they don't seem to let you remote link. It's a pain.

Awhh..that's sad.
Sophia Loren, will always be one of the world's most beautiful women, and she can cook!
She could have had any man she wanted.
