I don't see where this would be Lincoln vs. Davis. Originally it was about Kline vs. Killer Tiller/Paul Morrison/quisling pseudo-Republican pro-aborts. You are quite supportive of Lincoln here and yet you suggest that your conservatism is based on favoring smaller, less intrusive government and lower taxes. A better description would be Lincoln & Non-Sequitur vs. Conservatism and the modern-day GOP.

I am rather amused by Non-Seq's positions, he's a very strange fella. In addition to being the biggest Phill Kline hater on FR, he is the biggest unapologetic defender of Soviet stooge Allende's Marxist Paradise in Chile on FR, even after being endlessly schooled on the subject by people who knew infinitely more on how the late, departed hero, Gen. Pinochet, liberated his people and revitalized the economy like no other. More folks like him in the GOP, and we'd be saluting the hammer & sickle flag every mornin'... ;-)
