A parental fear of consistancy.
Disipline doesn't have to be brutal or mean. Just well thought out, appropriate, and above all, consistent.
This "study" is worthless. As are most so called studies of this nature.
Notice they don't really delineate what the conclusions are.
My conclusion from what I see (never mind real life and history): time out and no privileges are minimally effective.
