Hi All- Howard Stern has a grossly overinflated sense of his worth. I used to listen to him twenty years ago. He previously had the support of law enforcement personnel but he has become an uber-liberal over the past twelve to fifteen years...and especially in the time he has dated Beth Ostrosky according to what has been covered on this website and in the news.
If you find yourself in alignment with the current Howard Stern from a political perspective, you unfortunately ain't no conservative....sorry.

Sirius is the only one saying XM will merge. The SEC needs to do something about Mel Karmizan giving out false rumors solely to boost stock price. XM has no interest in merging with Sirius.

I wonder if I helped him. I never considered signing up for Sirius (before four months ago). But right now I'm listening to, and recording, Joan Sutherland do Norma.

Sam Kennison was another.
Sam was a crazy SOB on stage but pretty calm offstage. Funny funny guy either way. I remember once that he got banned from a Houston comedy club for some reason. Sam went across the street to a 7-11, climbed up on to a sign to a spot where he could stand and then "crucified" himself until they let him back in.
I had a friend in high school who's dad was "confused" about some things. My friend and I were sitting right up front next to the stage where Sam was doing his act and Sam started picking on my friend. Sam said something like "whatsa matter, you a homo?" This was not a good thing for Sam to say at the time. The next thing I knew Sam and my friend were rolling around on the floor trying to kill each other. Well, kill each ohter as best they could considering their "state". I watched them fight until they both got tired out. Sam said something like "I guess you aren't a homo little mister". After that we got very drunk. This was when Sam was forst getting a bit famous.
Oddly enough, Sam was killed by a drunk driver....

Sam Kennison was IMO in the the top three or four funniest comedians I have ever heard. Sam was LOUD but I don't think his mouth was particularly foul. He would curse during a joke, but I can't recall him cursing just for the sake of cursing. I believe several comedian have done, and still do just that, once you get past any shock value listen to whether they are funny. I miss Sam.
Howard Stern on the other hand, I returned from Yokosuka in 1994 and was stationed in Long Beach. I'd sit and listen to Howard's show many mornings until I just barely got to quaters on time LMAO much of the time. Long Beach closed and the FFG I was on changed hom, eports to Everett, WA. Seattle radio did not have any stations that carried Howard's show so I didn't hear him any for about a year and a half. I separated from the Navy in January 1996 and went back to school at UTEP. Howard was on one of the El Paso radio stations and his ratings were quite good until he went crazy after Selena was killed and everyone in town got so mad the show was moved to an AM station until the contract ran out.
I would listen to Howard's show on the way to school each morning, and it usually only took a few moments to decide whether is was going to be a funny show or a poor show. I'd put it on each morning, but more often than not I'd be listening to a tape or another station before long. The times in Long Beach, every once in a while Howard would be off but it was the exception not the rule (~94), a couple of years later (~96) I felt he was already on the decline.
Several years later during the rebroadcast of Howard's show on E, I'd stop for a moment or two, but I think he had definitely lost something even before he ran Jackie off, and after that it was just bad. I'm amazed so many folks have followed the show to pay radio because I firmly believe Howard's best years are behind him with or without the cursing.
My opinion worth what you paid.

Right. If this is indicative of what Sirius Radio is all about, they won't have me for a customer.

Amazing how companies that have never made a PROFIT spend money... It's called deficit spending and our Gubmint wrote the book on it.

I dont put much faith in those anonymous gossip reports about how much Rush Limbaugh, Jay Leno, etc. earn. They may be way off.
I doubt that we need to worry about Rush not making enough money! A few days ago Rush was laughing at the guy asking if he got paid to plug movies. Rush said something about having more money than he knew what to do with.
"RUSH: Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. I am not being paid for these things. Look it, I make so much money, they couldn't pay me enough to make it matter!"
More importantly, Rush has the honor of knowing that he earns a living defending the best American principles, something the sleazy show biz types can never say.

I have Sirius and despite Stern, like it better than XM. Better music channels.
If it goes under I hope I at least get a discount on an XM unit.
