Actually, if Trinity College claims to be a Catholic institution and if Trinity College is located within the Archdiocese of Washington, DC, then it most certainly IS within Wuerl's jurisdiction. John Paul II issued a specific document on the question of faculty members teaching theology needing to receive a "mandatum" from the ordinary (presiding bishop of the diocese in which the faculty member teaches. The Sisters of Notre Dame (either order of them) have NO INDEPENDENCE from the authority of the diocesan ordinary who has jurisdiction over them whatever it may please them to think. One order of Sisters of Notre Dame harbors some of the most willfully rebellious covens of feminazi/pro-abort nuns.
If Trinity is in Baltimore, then it is the job of William Cardinal Keeler, the ordinary of that archdiocese (we shall not hold our collective breath). Pelosi's pastor has very little to do with preventing her from publicly resisting the Church on abortion other than personally denying her the Eucharist at his parish. Her archbishop could publicly excommunicate her (and expect cooperation from other diocesan ordinaries, but that happens rather less often than one might hope and her archbishop (somewhat recently appointed) supported (or at least refused to oppose) "gay" "marriage" when it was up for a referendum vote in Utah when he was the diocesan ordinary in Salt Lake City.

I think it SHOULD be that way, but it isn't. Please show me where I'm wrong.

I tell ya, I PITY AmBishops. They have accepted the Duty to Teach, Rule, and Sanctify. However, they will NOT discharge their duties. I pray for them because their particular judgment will, as I understand it, have to include an accounting of their responsibilities/duties for ALL the Christians living under their authority. How many wil be able to say to Jesus, "I tried. I Taught. I Ruled. I Sanctified."

I worry about my own Particular Judgment because I AM responsible for what I did as a parent and the Head of the Domestic Church. My Duties are miniscule compared to the Duties of a Bishop
Lord have Mercy on AmBishops. Pray for them daily

116. A particular responsibility is incumbent upon Bishops with regard to
Catholic institutions. Whether these are agencies for the pastoral care of the family or for social work, or institutions dedicated to teaching or health care, Bishops can canonically erect and recognize these structures and delegate certain responsibilities to them. Nevertheless,
Bishops are never relieved of their own personal obligations. It falls to them, in communion with the Holy See, both to grant the title "Catholic" to Church-related schools,
179 universities,
180 health-care facilities and counselling services, and, in cases of a serious failure to live up to that title, to take it away.
179. Cf. Code of Canon Law, Canon 803, 3.180. Cf. Code of Canon Law, Canon 808.

Dear BlackElk,
The fault is Archbishop Wuerl's. Trinity is in Washington, DC.
