Why dont we use an AC-130 gunship on a few targets in Sadr City portion of Baghdad. A few runs of this aircraft and Baghdad would dissarm most insurgents except for the most virulent of Jihadi's who are just looking for a ticket to their 72 virgins.
An AC-130 is the kind of weapons platform you don't use on a city...and BTW not all the residents in Sadr city are the bad guys.
When the A10 flew over Baghdad in the Iraq war and shot up every government building on the Tigris river with the gattling gun in plain view of everyone (and took hundreds of hits including missile hits) ...
... the Ba'athists fled in the night because they knew they couldn't stand up to that kind of fire-power and they knew the US (US pilots that is) has balls as big as basketballs (even though the pilot was actually a female.)
AC-130s in Somalia going after al-qaeda is No. 1 on my list of things the US should do to win the war on terror.
