It is some toxic chemical gas from a ruptured pipeline or tanker

Strange day today. In Oxnard California Highway 1 is closed in both directions due to a "noxious smell in the area". Early today New York and New Jersey odorous...hmmm

Ethylenediamine isn't excessively toxic, but it is fairly irritating and stinks to high heaven. Luckily this is a chemical that would degrade rapidly in the environment.
