The 19" flat-panel monitor I just bought for my PC somehow suddenly seems so much smaller. =^(

Not impressed. I have always wanted a 140" plasma for my bathroom. I guess I will just have to wait.
To: Teacher317
That works out to be about 20 pixels/linear inch... you'll have to stand VERY far away for it to look good. At least 25 feet or so.

That screen size will ruin the drive-in business...
Oops, never mind.
I want one of those!
It'll fit- I'll make it fit.

That screen size will ruin the drive-in business...OTOH, think of what it'll do for the sub-prime mortgage business, when people who can't afford these put them on the list of toys they'll buy with their re-fis, right behind the new Escalade and the trip to Fiji.

Risin' above the city, blocking out the noonday sun
It dwarfs the mighty redwoods and it towers over everyone
I still remember when that delivery truck came down our block
What a lucky guy, I hear he got the last one in stock
And the neighbors are just green
They say, "That's the biggest screen we've ever seen!"

Rush now talking about this TV.

If you shop around, you can get a 780P ( native DMD DLP CHIP ) resolution DLP projector that can display 1280 X 720p like this ( Optoma HD70 ) projector for under $ 1000.
But the problem with these projectors is that the bulb burns out in 2000 hours of use, that is why I like the LED DLP projectors that have LEDS as a light source and no color wheel,,, so basically, these new generation of LED DLP projectors can last a long long time.
But they will cost ( MUCH $$$$ ) since they are just entering the market place.
But, you can get a entry level DLP projector ( 480P - native DMD DLP chip ) that can display SVGA for around $ 500 now, but, it's not a " TRUE " HD projector, just compatible of HD.
If I had the money, I buy the native 780p native projectors, even if it will cost a few hundred more. With a projector, you can display the whole wall in a room ( that is ? if the room and projector allows it ).
But, I would not use it for everyday use, only for good movies or the super bowl.

Those projector rigs sure are sweet with a good video game console. My brother-in-law has one with an XBox 360 hooked to it, complete with surround sound. The auto-racing games are just about 1:1 scale!
