Question: Thousands of illegal aliens -- many of whom are drug smugglers, gangsters and other criminals -- cross our borders every single day. But what happens to our brave border patrol agents who aggressively pursue and try to capture these criminals?
Answer: 11-12 years in prison!
You read that right.
Two brave U.S. Border Patrol agents -- Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean -- are headed to prison for a combined 23 YEARS! Their sentences begin on January 17 -- less than two weeks from today!
Their crime?
Defending our nation's southern border against illegal alien drug smugglers.

How does one go about getting a Presidential pardon? Can we help?
I faxed the White House and congresspeople about a pardon for these men, as I'm sure a great many have contacted the WH and congresspeople, but it seems we are all being ignored on this one.
I read the full incident report on these guys.....they belong in prison, and got off light with the sentences handed down to them....abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and covering up the commission of a crime by law enforcement officials needs to be dealt with harshly..
We may have to wait for another President.
Regards.
Wow. Sure seems like a miscarriage of justice.
ping
Really? Andrea Yates did less time for murdering her five kids.
Regards.

Could you give a summary of what you've read? I haven't followed this but remember talk of illegals pointing a gun at the agents before they fired.
the POTUS loves the fact that 11+ million undocumented Mexicans crossed over during his administration. He is a disgrace on this issue. He wants the texas corridor open...he wants North America to be one country.
We have be led down the garden path.
The sentences might be too long, but it doesn't appear they are exactly the "good guys" in this case. Probably more stupid than malicious, but they picked a bad time to act in a way that is in opposition to a politically sensitive Administration imperative.
Ping to Swinney.
BM, this jacks me off to the max. I hope their lawyers are working to appeal.
Uh-oh.
You are trying to inform with truth on an emotional issue of illegal alien bad, border patrol good..
Doesn't matter that they didn't report discharging firearms, or tried to cover up after the fact.
Truth does not matter here.
Illegal alien bad, border patrol good...
Why hasn't the prosecutor been tried in the court of public opinion?
Insane people get off with less time. that is why they plea for insanity in cases such as Yates.
In another time, she might have been exorcised or something along those lines as well as jail time or burned at the stake.
And I know of people in prison for possession of small amounts of marijuana....just because liberal judges let some people out of prison does not mean that others should be excused for their criminal activities, and the activities of these law enforcement individuals just plain scares the hell out of me....
Good luck with that pardon...
It was the GESTAPO (Homeland Security) that went into Mexico to offer the criminal there immunity to convict the border agents.
Remember the GESTAPO was created to defend the homeland against... US border patrol agents!!!?? %$$#
Point well taken... and I thought conservatives were supposed to be the facts only, not emotional creatures...boy, I sure do see alot of hysteria and little facts about this issue..
