Illegals plan a new boycott
Posted on 01/07/2007 7:01:27 PM PST by republican4ever
I don't think this has made the news yet. It'll be in a Spanish-language newspaper tomorrow, though.
Activists in Mexico and the US are planning a new boycott for May 1. It will be targeted against US products and companies, especially Wal-Mart.
On Feb 3 and 4 there will be a national conference at the Loyola Marymount Law School, in Los Angeles (for planning purposes, I believe).
"Se trata de movilizar a todo México y presionar en Estados Unidos para que nos ayuden a obtener una reforma migratoria justa y lo más amplia posible, destacó Javier Rodríguez, de la Coalición 25 de Marzo. ("It is about mobilizing all of Mexico and exert pressure within the US to help us attain a fair migration reform and as wide as possible," said Javier Rodriguez, from the Coalicion 25 de Marzo).
They will call for a boycott longer than one day and they will also call junior high and high school students to walk out, like they did last year. Given the sad state of affairs in Congress... I tremble to think they might be more effective this time around. It is time to get moving and to prevent further damage to our country.

migration = to move from one country, place, or locality to another (Merriam Webster does not specify whether it applies to humans as well as to animals)
immigration = to move into or come to live in a region or community especially as part of a large-scale and continuing movement of population (Obviously applied to humans)
outmigration = to leave one region or community in order to settle in another especially as part of a large-scale and continuing movement of population
Also: emigrate: to leave one's place of residence or country to live elsewhere
So... what say you?

I wish I knew!!!!!
But a brainstorm might help. Aside from unimaginative klutzes like me... in this forum there are lots and lots of people with sharp and clever ideas.

While I see the reason in your analysis, leftie boycotts are always for publicity, form over substance. Walmart can break any leftie boycott by cutting the price on a Playstation 3 by twenty bucks or hiring a hundred new employees. Either will put about 3000 people in front of the store, mostly lefties.

Yep, supporting Wal-Mart for staters would be nice. And let them know it. Blow the horn!
