My grandfather was another who hated FDR -- glad to meet some more multi-generational Conservative families here. The big media of that day was SO pro-FDR -- the movies especially glorified him the way third-world countries glorify dictators.

There was always more opposition to FDR than leftist mythologists want you to believe. Sure, in 1936 he won a landslide -- but there were always 40-45 percent voting against him -- still big margins, but you get the impression that only about 10 percent were unhappy with him.

Just like today, the ignorant and their manipulators bought the Rat line. And they tried to bully opponents into silence. They still use the same playbook.

It is interesting that even during WW2, Roosevelt got a mere 53% of the vote when he ran the 4th and final time. He did get over 400 electoral votes though.

Been to the FDRR memorial in DC? It is an impressive site to visit but I couldnt help thinking how little substance there was to the man after reading so many of his quotes. All he did was point out the obvious. "Too many people ar suffering from this depression," or words to that effect. Duh.
