What a shame the Remington 540 is no longer available. I have one, and it's both a tack driver, and a joy to shoot. Another nice Remington that we can't buy anymore is the Remington Nylon Model 66. Sometime in the mid '80s a Brazilian firm bought the rights to the Nylon along with the production machinery from Remington and made them for another 10 years. I bought one for less than $100, and it's a beautiful gun. Again, what a shame.
