Most people who make things by hand ascribe to that, whether modern or 'traditional' workers.

It is a statement of fallibility... I find it takes a lot of pressure off, the first mistake (the most painful) is tossed off, and then you can relax and enjoy the rest of the project. :-)

I agree. I'm a quilter, a crafter, and a woodworker. Some of my most beautiful works have beautiful imperfections. ;)
