My husband and I are going to San Diego in April for vacation, we also want to travel into Tijuana for the day. I was very pleased to read that most vendors on the Mexican border take American dollars (we won't have to try and find an exchange location), so I don't see much of a difference here.

I realize that Mexican immigration (illegal immigration) is a huge problem in the border States, but this doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. IMHO.

I went to Italy and England last fall and they still HONOR their own Country by only accepting pounds and euros not American dollars in most establishments.

And that was fine with us ..."when in Rome"...
but this is just another way for the mexican illegals to take hold and ruin a country.

I am going to city hall and attempting to keep our city one you wouldn't be afraid to visit, once they infiltrate a city it looks worse than a inner city. I know I am fighting it now, they have a home here in our area with adult males coming and going and 20 or more living in a private home.
I will take this fight to city hall and to Austin.

Disgusted in Texas!

Be prepared for a very long wait to cross back into the U.S.

I disagree. Texas is in danger of becoming "North Mexico". We press 1 for English, our schools are bilingual at taxpayer expense, our health care system is on the brink of collapse from providing free medical care to illegals, everywhere you go signage is in both English and Spanish. You can hardly do retail business without basic Spanish. Some national brand items are now providing label information in both languages. Our jails are full of illegals. I could go on and on. Yes, it IS a big deal.
