Borg is a better analogy-- the individual counts for nothing, and will willingly be destroyed to further the collective, the 'resistance is futile' attitude, and the fact that all of the vaunted 'advances' of Muslim science were parasitic (incremental advances only over what was learned from India and the Roman provinces they overran), and indeed the Muslim resurgence is parasitic on our technology, using the internet, and a host of other Western and specifically American inventions against us--all make the Borg a better Star Trek analogy.
Pre-Qutb classical Islamic culture, with its stress on honor, bears a passing resemblance to the Klingons as reimaged in ST:TNG, but we're dealing with the post-Qutb mutation.
