ITHACA--The father of an Air Force pilot was allegedly spit upon during a visit to Ithaca recently.
Writing in the Ithaca Journal, Stacie Yaw-Bieber, a staff sergeant in in the U.S. Army Reserves, recounts the following:
Recently an individual that frequents our legion recounted an incident that happened to him in Ithaca. He has a son who is a pilot in the Air Force and displays a sticker stating the same on his vehicle. A woman walked up to him and asked him if that was his vehicle, he stated it was and reiterated that his son was in the Air Force, the woman responded by stating that his son was a “Killer” and then spit on him.The incident is the latest in a series of actions directed against military personnel or their families in the Upstate New York area over the past few months.
In November, Ithaca's war memorial was vandalized the night before Veteran's Day and that same month in Syracuse saw a woman arrested for for allegedly spitting in a Fort Drum soldier's face at the local airport.
At this time, it is unknown whether these are isolated incidents or the start of a pattern of a disrespect against the military similar to that which occurred during the Vietnam War.
He should have slapped the bitch into next month.
I certainly agree with your sentiment, but then think of all the negative publicity the b#tch could have gotten with the media as she pressed charges for assault!

Spitting on someone is considered assault in most jurisdiction......
Now you know why they want to "bring the troops home!"
Or killed her. Someone spits at you nowdays can be considered an attempt on your life. A few years ago they convicted a guy who had aids for attempted murder for doing the same thing.
If someone over the age of 21 spits on me they better be ready to beat my butt,because thats what is coming, male or female. Spitting on someone is as gross as it gets.

Why don't these victims ever call the cops or file a police report? You're right, it is an assault in almost all jurisdictions.
That is the most vile and disgusting act you can do, aside from the obvious murder, etc. He should have smashed her in her mouth.
Go to the links in the article. The soldier in Syracuse did, and the spitter was arrested.
Now we shouldn't stereotype this woman. We have no way of knowing whether she's a lib or not (cause conservatives spit on troops too).

She assaulted him. He would have been fully within his rights to defend himself. Spitting on someone is assault.
Good for him....Lauren Maggi will understand that behavior has consequences. I hope he sues her civilly as well.
