Preview and Analysis for Weekend of January 6th and 7th, 2007
The new year begins, President Ford and Saddam Hussein have both been buried and now the Dhimmicrats are ascendant. The only thing that would make the DBM's world complete would be if a fatal "accident" befell both Bush and Cheney so that Queen Nazi Pelosi could assume her rightful place in the White House. Ah well, they can always hope that Conyers will ignore his promise and go ahead and impeach them both. I mean, according to the DBM the Dhimmicrats have an overwhelming majority in both houses of Congress. Don't they?
The shows this week concentrate on the triumphant Dhimmicrats, the disoriented, divided and defeated Republicans and the failed war in Iraq, along with the implied impotence of President Bush. Here is the show by show guest list and analysis:
ABC This Week
Three newly powerful old guard leftist Dhimmicrats are expected to try to recapture their "glory days" when they nearly brought down Ronald Reagan over Iran Contra and other manufactured scandals. Watch for a lot of attempts to recreate the Boland Amendment as it relates to the war on terror, particularly our involvement in Iraq. I don't think they're stupid enough to think they can get those sorts of things into law with the very week position they are truly in, but they will want to score points and set the tone for 2008. This show may go a long way to exposing their true intentions or this may be the place they intend to drop lots of sound bites about bipartisanship that they can point to when those nasty Republicans start their evil partisan obstructifying. And folks like Brent Scowcroft will be virtually the only Republicans to get air time for as long as the DBM can get away with it. Then little Georgie Steponallofus rounds out his roundtable with Harold Ford Jr. joining Cokie Roberts and George Will. Not exactly a surprise, but just a bit blatant in their bias, dontcha think?
CBS Face The Nation
The most powerful woman in the world sits down with the most reliable suck up on TV as far as leftists are concerned. This show will probably need to have medical warnings attached as it will be so sickening. I expect there to be lots of talk about bipartisanship coupled with lots of warnings to Republicans not to stand in the way of the Dhimmicrat's agenda and particularly warnings to President Bush that he has to toe Nazi Pelosi's line. She has the power!
CNN Late Edition
Wolfie has his usual eclectic mix, mostly oriented towards the situation in Iraq this week. Heavily weighted to opponents of current US policy in Iraq, or folks that have been marginalized by critics, this is clearly part of the campaign to do in Iraq what was done in Vietnam. I trust someone will eventually take up that challenge and point out that the left's "great victory" in Vietnam over the evil US resulted in the deaths of several million innocent people and turning several million others into either slaves or refugees. But remember, all they are saying is "give peace a chance." The silliest part of this weeks lineup is putting on Dennis Kucinich and portraying him as a serious Presidential candidate. Maybe they're expecting all of the other candidates to die. I don't think even that would make him a viable candidate, but Wolfie might think otherwise.
Fox News Sunday
Amazingly someone at Fox discovered that Mitch McConnell was actually elected as the leader of the Republicans in the Senate. I will be very interested to see this show as I view these two men as the most significant in their respective bodies for the next two years. I also think that the two of them will likely be the ones to square off in serious fights, or the ones to actually hammer out deals and get some interesting things through both the House and the Senate for the President's signature. Both men are very capable and both men know how to work the system. This show may very well set the tone for the real work of the next two years. Since I think there's a good chance Mitch McConnell may end up Senate Majority Leader in the not too distant future and Hoyer must realize that the posturing could be very interesting. Even if Johnson survives, the odds are high that at least one senior Senate Dhimmicrat won't see the next election. No Brit again this week, even though he's back for his other normal gigs. I wonder if Chris Wallace has gotten Fox to move him off of the regular panel to make sure he doesn't show him up so badly?
NBC Meet The Press
A Dhimmicrat with an ego much larger than his home state and very little impulse control squaring off against one of the lamest sycophants in the Republican party. What a line up! Plugs Biden has declared his intention to run for President and I can't really picture him as any more serious a candidate than Dennis Kucinich, but then the Dhimmicrats did nominate Jon F'n Carry. Lindsey Graham is to John McCain as Lamb Chop was to Shari Lewis. I'll let you come up with your own mental image of what that means McCain is doing with his hand. Regardless, Graham is serving as a McCain surrogate, particularly in regards to Iraq policy, so we effectively have a debate set up over the possibility of a troop surge. Earlier in the week the question was whether the Dhimmicrats would try to oppose any proposed troop increase, particularly since one of their talking points has been "not enough troops" for a long time. That question was answered on Friday with the outlandish dictatorial letter from Nazi Pelosi and Dingy Harry Reid. They've been listening to the DBM describe their "total domination of Washington" and they may actually have started to believe they really have that much power. I think they're in for a rude awakening. But this White House has managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory almost as often this last year as they did the reverse in the previous five years and it's not like they can count on their "troops" in Congress, particularly in the Senate. I can think of a dozen RINOs I trust far less than Joe Lieberman on this question.
The Saturday shows are following the same script this week, though they seem to have stopped listing anything for Tim Russert's CNBC show on the MTP site. No great loss. JER does offer up one "blue dog" Democrat, Tennessee's Jim Cooper. We'll see how that pans out.
So, the election is over, the holiday's are finished, the transition to Dhimmicrat hegemony has occurred. Now the various possibilities of what could happen over the next two years will begin to settle down into probabilities and established facts. In quantum physics they call this "collapsing the state vector." Over the next few weeks and months we'll get a much better idea of what type of "brave new world" we've been launched into by the "temper tantrum" of this last election. I think we're all in for a very bumpy ride and I have a feeling that it's not going to work out quite the way the DBM and the Dhimmicrats are trying to make us think it will. Keep your powder dry and your hands on your wallets. We must also make sure that we do our part by keeping in touch with our elected representatives and get involved with the process NOW for the election in 2008 so that we're not faced with no-win choices again.
The show by show details follow.
This should be cross posted to my blog at Wizards.townhall.com sooner or later, maybe even today. This post exists primarily as a heads up for who is on the weekend talks shows, what they've been invited on to push (based on their recent pronouncements) and the spin (meme) the DBM is likely trying to push based on that information. All of this is prep work for the weekly Sunday Morning Talk Show thread posted by Alas Babylon!. That thread provides a live commentary and analysis of the Sunday talking head shows, with rare insight and exceptional fact checking. we are the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic, at least in regards to these DBM gabfests. You wanna know what was said and what it meant, as well as where they messed up? Read that thread!
Mark Kilmer has posted his excellent preview thread over at RedState.COM.
Let's see....when the Dems were in the minority...these shows had on mostly dems...I guess so the minority could get their message.
Now, the GOP is in the minority...but these shows have on the majority...I guess because they think that the majority has the right to all of the airtime.
When is it the GOP's turn??
(ANd I can't shut my dam A/C off.....
LOL...and when we have all 100 seats in the Senate...and 300 seats in the House??
Oh...and the Presidency, too!
Did you read one of the links that Phsstpok provided about Joe Biden that said that he seeks to get the 2002 war resolution where Congress gave Pres. Bush the "permission" to go to war in Iraq, OVERTURNED???
Oh, yeah....I would say these people are very, very anxious to wave the white flag of surrender to our enemies.
McCain is going to learn who his true friends are, and none of them are in the media.
I am actually surprised that Arlen Specter isn't on one of these shows, considering HE is for the ISG..and against almost everything Pres. Bush does.
No Brit tomorrow. Nightmare guest lineups. Think I'll "cut and run" from all of them.
I agree. My news watching is considerably less since the election. I've been watching 'Everybody Loves Raymond' reruns. Looking forward to '24.'
I refuse to let these morons brainwash me. I have noticed that since dumping all of the news channels (with their argumentative panels) I sem to get a lot more stuff done around the house and am in a better frame of mind. I recommend it to everyone.
I even listen to music in the car now, which I hadn't done for years. Plus, I stopped reading all those letters to the editor written by wild Democrats. Life is better when I LOL watching reruns of Raymond!
Ever since Katrina, I have been sick of the pundits, including those who are supposed to be on our side. I have been listening to music and non-political talk instead.
I bet my blood pressure has dropped 20 points.
I just watched the Editorial Report...and I must say that Rep. Cooper is just as obnoxious as the rest of the dems.
Then, after him...the woman from Wall Street Journal...was just nitpicky about Pres. Bush..(I guess it is okay now that the dems are in power?)...
But, then she acted like that "6 for 06" is the best plan there ever was. She went on and on about the stem cell bill, minimum wages, etc.
BUT, she was all over Pres. Bush for his "spending"???
Does she not realize that ALL of these bills the Dems are rushing to pass will cost MONEY????
And where are they going to get the money????
I am just sick of these pundits thinking that the DEMS are going to come in and be fiscally responsible....pfffffft
Thanks for the warning list. Other than McConnell they're all too toxic to watch.I fear for my digestive system. I think I'll read instead.
Nothing could induce me to suffer through any of the shows.
