We had a war cabinet in WWII. Don't know what that was if it wasn't a committee.

Many differences. In WWII you had a presidential declaration of war which was immediately and unanimously supported by Congress. This with less damage and loss of life at Pearl Harbor than we saw in NY on 9/11. The war was fought in the field, not in DC. The military was given the mission to win the war and reported back to the War Department on its progress, its personnel and materiel needs. It was a concentrated, focused effort. Today we have no declaration of war. Instead we have committee of 600 arrogant, overinflated egos wrapped in personal power and ambition, each of whom personally considers himself/herself the ultimate war expert with the mandate to direct the course and policy of the war. War has become a political football in their game of king-of-the Hill. That's why we've not won a war since 1945 and will probably lose this one in the absence of victory. I'm not cynical. Naah...
