You'd be surprised at the private messages I got prior to the Nov 2006 elction from so-called republicans in USENET and here at FR (atleast one posting in this thread) openly advocating that a democrat win would be more positive for the economy because it would be easier passage of "Comprehensive Immigration Reform." They figure that if a person speaks spanish they just MUST be on the side of illegals. To me, that's bigotry.

I was surprised to see them try to encourage me to anger those republicans against "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" to the point that they may stay home and not vote. I've also noticed that some of them no longer post here. They must have gotten caught an banned. I see there are still some left.

The week following the election both George Bush and Tony Snow publicly stated they thought it would be easier to pass "comprehensive immigration reform" with the new Congress.

You're right about that.

Reading between the lines, I was getting that vibe from some other FReepers myself.

All those that get banned here move on to LibertyPost.org

You can still be banned if you PO the mod, but the discussions there are more free, and the rules alot more relaxed.
