Is Rep. Markey from Alaska? The standard mantra for so-called environmentalists is "these are public lands, they belong to all of us." OK - but what if the public says "Hey, let's drill that sucker?" What about what the Alaskans want? The truth is, "environmentalists" are green on the outside, red on the inside - a strong streak of neo-luddite fascist/marxist golly knows what. It's time to stop calling these folks democratic, because they are nothing of the sort.

>>>>"There are some places in our world that are so rare and so special, that we have a responsibility to protect them."
Can we dispense with the hyperbole? I'm so tired of hearing that old chestnut I could just scream. When it comes to obstructionist lawsuits and general nonsense, EVERY area is "unique" just like everyplace else. WHEN has an "environmentalist" EVER said "Oh, that tract of land - hell, go ahead, plenty more where that came from.." The truth is, the US has put millions of acres aside in National Parks, Wilderness, National Monuments, Recreation Areas, etc., etc., while the greenies have killed of whole swaths of honest employment sectors of logging, mining, ranching etc, it's just sick what these people have done.

I'm all for banning drilling for oil as long as the dmeocrats who vote for it give me their personal incomes to help pay for gas and oil http://sacredscoop.com

Well, so much for the leftist clamor about "energy independence."
Wait-- I think they want us to be independent from modern technology, period, and live as if we were all on a hippie commune.

Dims: The party of absolute insanity.
The party devoted to separating the unborn from their lifeline. The party devoted to separating the USA from her own natural resources , desperately needed for survival and independence. The party devoted to rescinding the law of survival, as it pertains to the USA. The party without a plan, without a clue, without a smidgen of loyalty to this Republic.
The party of the enemy within, without whom no enemy without would have any possibility of breaching our defenses of surviving our retaliation.

Who knows? Now, with federally funded stem cell research we may discover alternative energy sources. We don't know what they are but we might find 'em. ***demthink***

I understand RFK, Jr. is excited about windpower and in fact is proud to demonstrate how well it works in the bay near his home in Massachusetts ... I think I have that right

They should send me to the House. "Apology accepted Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid."

Oh, Goody!
We get to be even more dependent on Arab oil, Hugo Chavez, Mexico...
...and as an extra, added bonus, we also get to help pay the bills for Al Qaeda!
It is a tragic thing seeing our nation so dedicated to committing suicide.

What about what the Alaskans want? Truth is Alaska doesn't have a dog in this fight. Drill or not, the revenue to Alaska is hardly worth the trouble.
To: NormsRevenge
Remind me again how long the Republican led House and Senate had to pass a bill to drill in Anwar?

This nation is screwed.
We've been screwed for a while. Specifically since November 7th, 2006, 89th annivesary of the Bolshevik Revolution and the day the Democrats won control of Congress.
To: NormsRevenge
These Democrats have only one thing on their minds and that is to starve this country of the energy it needs to function and to keep us locked in to the tyrants in the Arab countries who supply our oil needs.

I want to have a push to ban Demorats.
Seriously, they are a National Security threat. Go ahead and pull out of Iraq and leave the place to the Iranians or terrorist (same difference). Iran and al qa'eda are a threat to our Security. So are those who wish to pull out and give Iraq to them.
The rats passed so many environmental laws, all the jobs went to China. They be tryin' to take our gun, abort babies, remove God from public view, and they won't let us drill for oil. They would rather we be dependent upon a foreign source like Hugo Chavez.
Ban Demorats now! They are a threat ot our National Security.

It's almost like they are not really concerned about the environment, but really wish to impede societal advancement (a la Ted Kazynski)...
