Furthermore, the reproduction rate of Hispanics is one of the highest in the country. And more and more of their children are being born out of wedlock. I'd always believed that Hispanics' value for religion made their family structures strong, but I appear to have been mistaken.

The biggest problem is the unwillingness to assimilate (we now call it "acculturate") by speaking English. Unlike other immigrant groups, the second (and third) generations are not learning English. Furthermore, the male youth are not integrating into the economic mainstream (which is harder if you don't speak the native language) and they are seeing multi-generational perpetuation of gangs, crime, etc. They are creating a permanent underclass for themselves--and we are enabling it.
