No, that information is correct - Ellison, like every Congressman, was sworn in by Speaker Pelosi today en masse on the House floor. The "swearing-in" on the Koran was a photo-op (well, technically TWO photo-ops - according to the
AP, Ellison had two pictures taken with different family members).
