The presence of the Revolutionary Guards makes the regime practically coup-proof.

Yes, this is true, however, WHO does the Guard report to now??? That's the issue, it will be one of the other mullahs, but there is a Vacuum at the top and no clearcut leader. This can easily spiral out of control of the government. I do not think it outrageous that there may be a large number of individuals both in and out of Iran that would benefit in any number of ways from Ahammadumbjerk's death. Or at the very least his removal from power. If you want a good description of near panic, it May be our little pest Mahmood. Or at the lease, he is likely not eating anything he didn't kill and cook himself... LOL It's a bit of tongue in cheek to suggest sending a few battalions over the border. If Ammahdumjerk meets the great pig in the sky, it will be a VERY small operation. Best case scenario, Mahmood has lost his job. He doesn't have the support of anyone like he had with the Supreme leader. A number of the others do not like him at all. He may well be encouraged to retire. LOTS of things can happen.... Get the Popcorn out this is the biggest Soap Opera on the planet atm.
That's the House Wife's take on it.
