- Police and family members said a 10-year-old boy who died by hanging himself from a bunk bed was apparently mimicking the execution of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
Sergio Pelico was found dead Sunday in his apartment bedroom, said Webster police Lt. Tom Claunch. Pelico's mother told police he had previously watched a news report on Saddam's death.
"It appears to be accidental," Claunch said. "Our gut reaction is that he was experimenting."

Here is another one.

The third one, right?
Why do parents let their children watch a hanging on TV?

This happened in Texas? This is all Bush's fault.
Or maybe not. Texas use hanging in the death sentence?

Gustavo said the family is trying to put together enough money to send Sergio's body to Guatemala for burial.

I wonder how many went unreported by the media before Saddam's hanging?

"I don't think he thought it was real," Gustavo said of Saddam's hanging. "They showed them putting the noose around his neck and everything. Why show that on TV?" They show it for ratings, which equal advertising dollars, Gustavo. Why did you let your nephew watch it?

In the article the uncle told the kid that SH was hung because he was very bad. The kid didn't get a Christmas gift from dad. Makes one wonder if the kid thought he had been real bad and thats why he didn't get a present, I guess we will never know.

Or am I a bad man for thinking that? Well, if you're a bad man, I'm a bad woman. Whenever I hear these things, my response is, "Well... the gene pool's been cleaned a little."

3 kids hang themselves since the execution. What is the fascination with hanging? Is it the simplicity of the method and the common availability of a length of rope? Fasination that something as simple as cord or line can kill you?
If they had shot Sadaam, or dropped him into a wood chipper, would kids be looking to shoot themselves, or jump into a chipper?

I think some people read the headlines and post without reading the article. Make that a lot of people here.

I'm guilty of "not-reading-whole-article" syndrome. I assumed it was another Muslim in a Middle Eastern country.
