I am reading this in the morning of Jan 4 and haven't got to the end of the thread, but didn't the Director of the National Archives resign around this time? We had a discussion about this at the time but I can't remember the outcome of the director's resignation.
Yes, the director resigned (or was actually "fired" via being asked for his resignation - - that's the weasel way things are done in Dirty City).
