My opinion is, and has been, the Clintons must have a lot of dirt on Bush. I think so also. The missing FBI files. What worries me is what has Bush done that is so bad? Maybe not so much on George W. Bush, maybe more so on George H. Bush?

"Berger said he put in over 100 unpaid hours of his time to be responsive."
Oh, how these professional politicos sacrifice for the peasantry! He spent some of that time removing records from the Commission reading room, presumably so no one connected with the Commission would see them. The brain dead members of the Commission didn't address this in their work.

Pappa Bush, What in God's name could he have done. Could it be related to the House of Saud?

IIRC, the 40,000 word National Security Estimate delivered to the incoming Bush Administration from the Clinton camp mentioned al Qaeda four times and bin Laden only once. From technology transfers for campaign cash to undermining airline security for political contributions, the Clinton/Gore machine was in it for the money. National security was not on their list of priorities.

Something stinks in Washington.

It is very frustrating for us. The Clinton's are Teflon. I doubt we will ever see them pay for their crimes. Like someone said "fate" will have to help us out.

Whatever it is, it may ultimately spell doom for our nation.

I suspect the political deal that was struck that led to the 9/11 Commission was that there be no "partisanship", that no finger be pointed at either Administration. Clarke was not, apparently, a party to the deal.
To: Brilliant
This may be far fetched, but if clarke were the redacted agent I could see why they would want that under wraps.
Clarke was serving in his position at the pleasure of GWB at the time and clarke was probably coordinating his testimony with berger et al.
Just a guess.

With 950+ stolen FBI files, and no interest by the US government,
citizen control of the US government ended long ago.

the report quotes Mr. Clarke as saying, "old wily Usama will likely boogie to Baghdad." That is indeed Interesting. I'd like to see that quote hit the NY Post.

I am reading this in the morning of Jan 4 and haven't got to the end of the thread, but didn't the Director of the National Archives resign around this time? We had a discussion about this at the time but I can't remember the outcome of the director's resignation.
