I still remember Jerry Williams' ads for the No Name:
"...where the mayor can't get you for parking, because it is free...and owner Nick Contos is there; nothing has changed,
and why should it? The most delicious seafood you ever
had. Marvelous! You'll enjoy!* Why? It's just great,
that's why. Take the whole family out; the check is not going to kill your budget. The No Name...'odis onoma' (sp?)"
*--no, that's no misprint, it's how he said the ad.
"You'll enjoy" (no "it" at the end)
Thanks. I have fond memories of Jerry in his heyday and the No Name. Many don't like the place but I love their milky seafood chowder better than the best clam chowder on planet earth. Their slaw and tartar sauce was the best and great with fried Ipswich calms or fish or scallops. I loved them all. (I live in FL now)
A friend mailed me Nick Contos' Globe obituary.
