District Attorney Mike Nifong said after a private swearing-in Tuesday that he intends to help Durham heal the wounds of the Duke University lacrosse case.
The prosecutor, who faces ethics charges for his public statements about the sexual assault case against three former lacrosse players, began his four-year term of office in a ceremony closed to avoid reporters.
what a greasy little man....
Which is only appropriate, as he caused them.
"How does the perpetrator of this hideous farce help anyone heal?"
A good start would be to drop all charges.
I had to laugh out loud last night when Greta Van Susteren ran the video clip of Nifong denying he had blocked the press from his swearing in ceremony. She then followed up with the video clip of the Sheriff's Deputy at the courthouse who said that NIFONG himself had told him to NOT allow them in the courthouse! The guy lied about that one too, and no one is questioning it. The press here in Raleigh-Durham is the worst I have seen anywhere.
Peach, I'm sure the author is inserting his own interpretation. What Nifong had to have really said was that he was trying "to help Durham heel."
A good ending would be him seeing some prison time.
Now he shuts up.
Nifong is scared. He knows he's in trouble, and he's trying to keep his job.
This guy is a classic bozo.
He is a RAT, they always claim healing qualities. Of course, thats after they have created the problem that needs healing.
Nifong's sanctimonious lie is just as fake.
That's a great idea. He can write a column on healing for the local newspaper.
If the prison authorities let him.
Did he really deny that he blocked the press from his swearing in ceremony? He knows he is cornered and has nothing more to lose by lying.
In a strange way this is going to be fun to watcch.
I can't believe the nerve of this man!
His arrogance, I believe, is based on his confidence in being inside the Ole Boy Network here in the dem-controlled NC government and believing in his heart that his pals will never hurt him by taking away the job he sold his soul to get. He's one of "them", you know.
He doesn't deserve a job unless it is in the prison laundry.
"
"I don't feel that I'm part of the problem. I feel that I have assisted in revealing the problem,""
The first part of that statement is a lie. The second part is pure truth. He has assisted in revealing the problem. He is the problem.
ROFL! I don't remember that, but what an image...
If it didn't involve 3 innocent (of the felony charges) college students, it would be alot more fun to watch Nifong worm himself out of this pickle he's created. Course, it did get him exactly where he wanted to be.. at the swearing in.
