My first vote was also against Ford and for Carter. I was young, dumb(er), and believed the BS Carter was peddling. Then I started working for a living, paying taxes, and I realized that the old Democrats were replaced by America haters.

I am ashamed to say that in my ignorance and youth I voted for Carter because of the pardon, even though I thought Ford had done a good job. That is the LAST time I voted single issue,
Ditto for me. I cringe every time I think I voted for Carter. And I truly feel ashamed - still !! 30 years later.
