I have been wondering where you are...

BTW..I am listening to NPR, while moving around with the kids...and Mara Liasson is the moderator.

She said that Cheney was so disgusted at the lack of respect for the President during Ford's time...that it is "HE that has almost made Pres. Bush's an imperialistic presidency"....ugh

It's about the proper protocol and respect for the office of the Presidency. Sorry if that offends you so much.

Well...don't judge the Nixon girls. They could be there and the tv just not pan them.

"What's up with Brit's comment--former presidents should be seen and not heard like little children...how about as a matter of respect?"

If Brit said that, I wasn't paying attention, but I completely agree with him. Former Presidents like Carter and Clinton, run around the world and endlessly trash the foreign policies of the Republican Presidents. That should not be the role of a former President. Having no class in office, they still have no class....so why should we be surprised.

I have tried to find a published program of the funeral service on line, (as we had for Reagan's funernal) and I haven't been able to find one. That way we knew the names of all of the musical selections.

The media praising Ford to the skies. I was there and I remember that they hated, despised, excoriated the man's every sentence.

They hated him for saving Nixon from their bloodlust.

Dear Fawn,
Relax, we have only had 43 presidents in the entire history of our country. That in itself is an amazing tribute to our people and our system.

Today is one national day of mourning in honor of one of those 43. It does not happen too often.

In case you didn't know it, even the NY Stock Exchange is closed today.
