And I would have agreed yesterday. Today, after seeing the snippet, I FEEL mean-spirited. During the snippet, it appeared as if he was mimicking Bill Clinton and all his affectations.

If the eulogy went as it sounds I AM mean-spirited because I am currently wishing Carter would have choked on his own tongue. May God forgive me, but I do.

I just checked C-span's schedule...and they don't have anything on their schedule for this evening, so I would imagine they will just replay these ceremonies from today.

I will post it if I find out...here on this thread and ping you.

yes, I've been thinking the same thing. The average funeral is totally exhausting, couldn't imagine going through what they all have.

Rummy's speech was wonderful. He got choked up a few times. Of anyone wants highlights, I'd suggest visiting the Grand Rapids local TV station websites such as woodtv.com, wzzmtv13.com, and wxmi.com.

They expected 10,000 visitors in GR. They got 60,000. People have lined the entire route to and from the Museum. Ford was truly 'ours'.

I bet we could safely say that we will never see a Republican President be invited to speak at a Democrat State Funeral in our lifetimes.

Are those times Eastern or Central? It is already 4:40 p.m. Eastern time and getting dark. Could the services be 1:15 minutes late?

Glad to hear it. I'm seething about something I have yet to see, letting my mind run away from me. It's been a long, bad day when I wanted to do nothing other than watch the the Funeral. I apologize for my earlier ill-conceived hissy fit.

They will invited fawning liberal academics and authors, Hollywood tramps and musicians, "diplomats" like Kofi Annan, Jacques Chirac, and perhaps even Amanutjob, but I doubt you'll see a Republican President invited to speak.

The services are running around an hour behind. The sun is indeed setting here and it should be dark by 5:30-5:45pm.

Just to give everyone an idea of the weather today... by all rights, we should have snow on the ground, and snow falling. January in West Michigan is usually pretty nasty. But today, the skies are crystal clear, the grass is still green, and the temps are around 50 degrees.

I'm almost dreading the "Missing Man Formation". The first one I ever saw that I can remember (or was old enough to comprehend the significance) was in Houston for the Challenger Memorial. It reduced me to a sobbing heap. That formation still does every time I see it.

Thank you, tx. I thought they said yesterday that none of this private service would be televised.

FOX was the last to cover it, only went live around 3 or 3:30, don't get why

Bubba will have GWHB there. I can't honestly imagine what a Republican president could find appropriate to say about Carter except for "Habitat for Humanity".

Wonderful. I've noticed that the press is not giving us shots along the motorway, (as they did during Reagan's funeral) so it's been hard to see the crowds along the route.
