WASHINGTON Gerald R. Ford leaves his beloved U.S. Capitol for the last time Tuesday as the period set aside for ordinary Americans to say goodbye gives way to an elaborate invitation-only funeral at the awe-inspiring Washington National Cathedral.
As the first order of business Tuesday, Ford's remains were being removed from the Rotunda to lie in repose briefly outside the Senate before leaving the Capitol where Ford served as a congressman for 25 years. As vice president, Ford also had the constitutional title of president of the Senate.

My husband used to caddie for Perry Como when he lived in Sands Point, NY. Said he was "salt of the earth".
To: surrey
LOL........ I caddied for him once at The Pittsburgh Field Club here in Pittsburgh back in the late 50's.
He was a total gentleman ................. and didn't carry too many clubs either!

President Ford's casket is now arriving at his museum.
Bagpipers will play "Amazing Grace" ...

I had to turn to CNN. FOX was talking about President Reagan instead of President Ford. I loved President Reagan and still do, but his is President Ford's funeral.

Yes, I realize that, I also realize that Protestants often think they have invented things that they did not.

President and Mrs Bush in St Louis Cathedral, New Orleans, LA
President Bush really feels the power of prayer.
My first photo post. I love this picture so much that I finally learned how to do it, in order to share it with you.

Betty looked a bit upset. It could be that she's just mentally exhausted from the past week and the long day, but I felt she wasn't happy about the awful bagpipe playing of "Amazing Grace".

One of my uncles was the US Marshall for the State of Maryland during the Eisenhower admin, and he was not replaced immediately after Kennedy came into office. He used to just roll his eyes when the word Kennedy was mentioned, and tell us about all the stories that he could not share with us. LOL!
