Point is, that there is a fundamental misunderstanding of Armageddon, on the part of liberals and others, who accuse Evangelicals of wishing for Armageddon (as in Shi'ites waiting for the return of the Mahdi).

Most Evangelical Christians believe they will have been raptured and in Heaven by the time of the Battle.

This is what I had been taught. But when in history has God ever removed his people from trials and tribulation? Christians were impaled and burned as torches to light a main Roman road. Nearly all of the Disciples were martyred.

Christ himself faced not only crucifixion, the most gruesome death devised, but seperation from God the moment mans sins were placed upon him.

If Christ and the others weren't spared, why should we?

I don't disagree. Fact is, there are thousands of Christians suffering tribulation for Christ right now in parts of the world.

Remember God is no respecter of persons. When Noah was instructed to build the arc, 120 years passed until God "Shut them in." Noah was accounted rightous in obiedience. As Noah was given the arc to pass through God's judgement. As Israel was saved when the Angel of Death passed over in Egypt, those who had placed the blood on the lintel and the doorpost, God's judgement was that their sin were forgiven.

Jesus is our Arc and our passover Lamb and the Bride of Christ is not appointed to the wrath of God, because of what Jesus did on the Cross. The Bride is covered by the spotless lamb of God and the sins of the bride are as far away from God as is the West from the East. The Bride of Christ, the Church, is not appointed unto judgement.
