WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After numerous refusals over three and a half years, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has released the first known public copy of the U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement. The government was forced to make the disclosure in response to lawsuits filed under the Freedom of Information Act by TREA Senior Citizens League, a 1.2 million-member nonpartisan seniors advocacy group.
The Totalization Agreement could allow millions of illegal Mexican workers to draw billions of dollars from the U.S. Social Security Trust Fund.
The agreement between the U.S. and Mexico was signed in June 2004, and is awaiting President Bush's signature. Once President Bush approves the agreement, which would be done without Congressional vote, either House of Congress would have 60 days to disapprove the agreement by voting to reject it.
"The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy -- yet, they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise," said Ralph McCutchen, Chairman of the TREA Senior Citizens League.
The U.S. currently has 21 similar agreements in effect with other nations, which are intended to eliminate dual taxation for persons who work outside their country of origin. All of the agreements are with developed nations with economies similar to that of the U.S.
For example, a worker who turns 62 after 1990 generally needs 40 calendar quarters of coverage to receive retirement benefits. Under totalization agreements, workers are allowed to combine earnings from both countries in order to qualify for benefits. The Agreement with Mexico, like other totalization agreements, would allow workers to qualify with just six quarters, or 18 months, of U.S. coverage.
But Mexico's retirement system is radically different than that of other participating countries. For example, only 40 percent of non-government workers participate in Mexico's system, whereas 96 percent of America's non- government workers do. In addition, the U.S. system is progressive, meaning lower wage earners get back much more than they put in; in Mexico, workers get back only what they put in, plus accrued interest.
"I applaud the persistent efforts of TREA Senior Citizens League to try to get documents from the U.S. Government about the U.S.-Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement," said Rep. Walter Jones (news, bio, voting record) (R-N.C.). "The American people are finally beginning to get some of the information regarding this Agreement that they have been seeking for so long."
According to the SSA, the Social Security Trust Fund will begin paying out more than it is taking in by 2017, and will be exhausted by the year 2040.
With 1.2 million members, TREA Senior Citizens League is one of the nation's largest nonpartisan seniors groups. Visit http://www.SeniorsLeague.org for more information or to see the Totalization Agreement documents.

My pea mind would guess that Socialism is the benefactor to keep the masses orderly.
That's how it began life (as a forecasting tool, when originally developed for the feds by RAND), but it has morphed into a form that is very effective for FORMING "consensus".

They should be, however one advantage for employers, hiring illegals off the books for cash, is the employers are not having to pay all the unseen expenses they pay for you or I. I don't see this will be an advantage for Mexican workers unless they have proof they were employed and the employer withheld FICA from their checks. It especially should not help illegals working under stolen SS numbers.
The goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome, while giving the illusion of taking public input under the pretext of being accountable to the public. For Delphi to work, it is critical that the targeted group be kept away from knowledgeable people who could lead them away from the Delphier's pre-determined outcome.
Heaven help us all....
You my friend have got it exactly right.
You know what the prostitutions say when ask how much is in the trust fund? They simply say its solvent. They havent the guts to say that it has been gutted by them since who knows when.
By 2012 or a few years after, we have to pay ALL THEM IOUs that are in that trust. Thats when it crashes..or we have a real constitutional revolution in this country and build a gallows not unlike the one they used for the assassins of Abe Lincoln, and start hanging the CONgress critters.
A couple months ago I got into a real dandy with a good friend of mine who is a democrat. I told him that by the year 2012, that SS will be in debt by the tune of trillions of dollars. He said I was full of shit. I told him he is a fine example of a sheep who can be had by any flim flam artist that comes along. I told him that of course he's 80. So he's gonna be dead by then, so why worry?
And that is the real problem why nothing is gonna be done. Those on SS dont care, as long as they get "thier share" and then some.
We need a third party.
If Bush rams through this travesty, there's no doubt in my mind he'll go down the most reviled President we've ever had.
I read through all three links. I think you are correct, I recognize a half dozen people in the reading I just completed.
No, actually I don't. I believe the NAU is part of long term planning of agenda 21. Let's face it, this WOT and Iraq would not have happened under Clinton or any Democrat. However, the Dems and Republicans are pushing the NWO together. I think Hillary and Bush are both for this Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico and the socialization of this hemisphere and world.
I hate to see 'hostility toward the military' in the U.S. Is there really that much hostility there to cancel a ship commissioning?
Duly noted. Thanks.
You are welcome.
Unfortunately, yes. They have more than one council member very anti-military in San Fran and one who has been on Fox several times actually thinks the USA should not have a military, the money should be spent for Socialist programs instead. They thought he was joking at first, but alas no, he wasn't. DiFi tried hard to get this carrier docked in San Francisco to bring more tourism into the city and it ended up in Stockton because of the negativity San Francisco showed to our military.
Bill O'Reilly has called for the Government to withhold government funding for San Francisco where they can, especially the universities in the area who have kicked out ROTC.
I recognized some when I read it as well. They fit the profile perfectly.
As a borderbot, and proud of it, I have have been called everything under the sun...now I know why they do it. Feels good to finally be able to put a name to what they are up too.
Say the words Agenda 21 on FR and they start mocking and berating you. Agenda 21 is real and they better wake up to that fact.
The most meaningful words I have read all evening.
Dang, I didn't realise the hostility was that bad. Sad commentary on the part of some citizens. I am around blue dog Democrats who actually support our military but at the same time they are teaching their younger childen that fighting over in Iraq is not defendig America. I camnot argue with them so long as we have the UN's charter Chapter VII. You can bet the UN wants the American military to keep fighting.
They do tend to hunt in packs...
A favorite tactic is to hunt late at night, when they can triangulate in on "lone prey", and either provoke them into saying something to get themselves banned, or, get the thread locked or deleted, or, moved to "the smokey backroom", where very few will see it.
The more they fear exposure -- or, the more the weakness of their game is exposed -- the harder they'll work toward those goals. I've seen it so many times over the years that I can pretty much set my clock by it.
Agreed. Their Modus Operandi in a nutshell.
