The environmentalists are concerned about what unlimited immigration (which is what we have now) will do to resources.

Most conservatives are concerned about what it do to our culture:
- Increased crime
- Increased welfare costs
- The end of the conservative movement (as illegals are granted amnesty and become citizens)
- How our kids will end up having to fix the problem

This is not a humorous video.
This is a pro-family planning, pro-population control video.
Audience: Clinton-era environmentalists/advocates of sustainable development

Video explains that US Immigration as a solution to 3rd world poverty makes no sense. The only solution is family planning (Aka Abortion).

There are other aspects to family planning besides abortions. Studies have shown that the higher the education rate of women, the lower the number of children per woman, even in impoverished countries where education may only go to sixth grade or so.

Secondly, there needs to be education of the type that has been successful against AIDS in Uganda: rape is inappropriate, and having sex with virgins does not guarantee that a man will not contract AIDS. Uganda has lowered its incidence of AIDS by teaching traditional marriage and waiting for sex until marriage; whereas in many African countries, rape of women and girls is commonplace.

Family planning is not necessarily abortion. It can include the pill and even rhythm.

The problem with the world's population growth is that the biggest increases are taking place in regions that are the least educated and least able to support themselves.

Let's be realistic (and this is coming from an anti-abortion Catholic who would vote third party before Rudy), there's no way this country can permit all the people that wish to immigrate to the U.S. to come here without destroying our very way of life.

If you check the numbers USA Website (I just did), it addresses only illegal immigration (not birth control, not abortion).

Since we are already at 300 million population, and he is not talking about ILLEGAL immigration how OLD is this film?

Judging from the video, and his discussion of his graphs, I would guess about 1995 or later..

I noticed the same thing you did.. And had the same thoughts...
We're already at 300 million, so where did those numbers come from??

The green graph was "projected" from 1970 population..
Later, the red "immigration" layer is added, and that brings the population figures closer.
The 1st card ends at 1990, and the total population stands at about 240 - 245 million..
The 2nd card shows total (green & red) at about 300 million close to the 2010 mark.. (center of 2nd card)
I would guess it is generally accurate, considering it was probably done about 10 years ago...

The video presentation demonstrates the failed promise of the globalists' open borders policy. Whether or not the host of the presentation opposes mass immigration for environmental reasons, mass immigration is a threat to our constitutional republic. At some point there will be no way to preserve our way of life as we know it if we allow our votes to be diluted by foreigners who don't value our republican government.

It doesn't take a genius to see the globalist failures of "open borders" are echoed in the dogma of so called "free trade." We can leave our children a legacy of an overburdened social/cultural infrastructure to go with the service/slave economy that the globalists plan to leave our children to live/work in as they continue to import third world laborers and export our standard of living to third world nations.

There are some truths in what he says but he ignores other truths.  The streams and lakes of the USA have gotten cleaner since the early 1900's despite the population growth.  It's not a trade off scenario though that's how he presents it.

Also ignored are the huge advances in economic prosperity for the desperately poor around the world; particularly in Asia where communism is fading into captalism and the rule of law is at least making some progress.

Here's an earlier thread on the creepy John Tanton:

Father of Anti-Immigration Movement Awaits History's Judgment [Dr. John Tanton]

I see no failures of the globalists. The only way to get the American public in line with the global plan is to overrun us with folks that were raised without a U.S. Constitution.

It appears to be working quite well IMO.

I don't fault you for your cynicism, but I hope you haven't given up. Of course, my post was directed at the freepers who embrace free trade unquestioningly.

I do concede that there are educational elements to family planning, fair enough.

I just get a little suspicious of "educational" organizations who are aligned with organizations that make money off abortions under the banner of "reproductive rights".
