BAGHDAD, Iraq - The death of a Texas soldier, announced Sunday by the Pentagon, raised the number of U.S. military deaths in Iraq to at least 3,000 since the war began, according to an Associated Press count.
Spc. Dustin R. Donica, 22, of Spring, Texas, was killed Thursday by small arms fire in Baghdad, the Defense Department said.
At the risk of getting my tongue lashed, bathed, stretched or cut out, that is a bit offensive. I don't know this poster's history, but this is news. It's going to lead every news cast. Some freeper was bound to post this story irregardless.
I seriously doubt any people here are happy about 3,000 dead American soldiers and marines. Some aren't crazy about the mission, some still endorse it full heartedly. I know you are the admin moderator and all, but suggesting that freepers in good standing want our troops to die is a bit over the top IMHO. Perhaps this poster does hate our troops and wants them to die. If so, I am wrong. But, I like to give people more of the benefit of the doubt.
That's the point, isn't it?

Because I did not spin the death of Hussein into bad news for America. I reported an AP account that came across the wire, with the name and hometown of the soldier that was killed.
Many of the deaths in the past 2 years would never have happened without the encouragement given to the terrorists to hang on, the Dems were coming soon. I consider every politician and DBM critter who has called President Bush stupid or said that the war was wrong (after it had started) to have culpability in this. They will never admit it, however. We really live in parallel universes.
. . . . . And damn the celebrating media, may they rot in he!! when their time comes.
The United States of America just sanctioned the ascension of Iranian Hezbullah to power. With Mookie and the Hezbullah Mehdi Army becoming the power broker and the enforcement arm. But hey, the Iraqi people got to vote in an Islamic "democracy".

Who are we supposed to believe? You or our lying eyes?
Isn't this a discussion forum?
Peaceniks always claim that they are NOT happy about such milestones. In fact, they are OH SO EAGER to repeat the milestones--as soon and as often as possibe--to anyone who will listen. What does this tell you about peaceniks? It tells me that they are scum.
Its sick the AP is treating this like some basbeball score
I don't think saying the U.S. has sanctioned the Iranian Hezbollah is pro-American. Do you? It reminds me a lot of those who said the U.S. got what she deserved on 9/11. If ARealMothersSonForever believes the U.S. sanctions the Iranian Hezbollah, where does that put him with respect to terrorist attacks on the U.S.? I'd say he thinks we will get what we deserve when it happens. He called it here first. It's our fault because we hanged Saddam.
Strange. I searched the AP article in question, and was unable to find this paragraph:
Mookie directed Maliki to cooperate. The United States of America just sanctioned the ascension of Iranian Hezbullah to power. With Mookie and the Hezbullah Mehdi Army becoming the power broker and the enforcement arm. But hey, the Iraqi people got to vote in an Islamic "democracy".
But perhaps you can point it out to us. Will you do that?
I hardly see what's so objectionable about that. It's phrased more strongly than I would put it, but it's pretty obvious Maliki has been cosying up to al Sadr, and the overwhelming presence of Moqtada's acolytes in that execution chamber speaks volumes about what the Iraqi government is turning into.
See my post 33.
Why isn't ARealMothersSonForever replying to me? Don't you wonder about that? I do.
"I don't think saying the U.S. has sanctioned the Iranian Hezbollah is pro-American. Do you?"
Pro-American or not, getting a discussion going about it seems harmless to me...
If he wants to discuss, why isn't he replying to me or clarifying his position?
They treat every GI death of as if it were a policy mistake, rather than the HEROIC SACRIFICE of a true patriot in service of his or her country. To use the death of a soldier as a tool to advance a policy agenda or justify some kind of political vendetta against the leadership of this country is truly sickening.
