As well they should. Course NC is being infested of late by other sorts (yankees). Try that now in certain parts of the state and you can get run over. I tried explaining it to them one time that it was out of respect for the family and not the person, but they didn't understand
I've never seen that done. At least people stay behind and don't cut in...best we can do in NY State.

Indeed they do! When my sister passed away in GA as the procession passed through city streets, people on the sidewalk stopped, faced the procession and placed their had over their heart. Out on a 4-lane highway, people traveling in the opposite direction stopped their cars, got out and placed their hand over their heart. Just a matter of showing respect.
